About the Authors
Tucker Elliot is a Georgia native and a diehard Braves fan. A former high school athletic director and varsity baseball coach, he now teaches journalism part time at a local college - but his fulltime job is volunteering at the local recreation league, coaching his son's little league team, chalking the fields, and working the concession stands.
Bill Nowlin has written a couple of dozen books on the Boston Red Sox, including Red Sox Threads and Day by Day with the Boston Red Sox. He's also edited a number of "team books" on the Red Sox, in collaboration with colleagues from the Society of American Baseball Research (SABR), which he serves as Vice President. Among the SABR books are The 1967 Impossible Dream Red Sox and books on the 1918 Sox, the 1939 team, the 1948 team, and the 1975 team. A volume on the 1912 Red Sox is in the works.
Larry Underwood grew up in St. Louis and has been following the Cardinals for over 50 years. He 's a retired executive who recently published a book about his 26-year career with the car rental giant, Enterprise; Life Under the Corporate Microscope - A Maverick's Irreverent Perspective. This is his second book.
Joel Katte was five in 1982 when he fell in love with the Milwaukee Brewers and first dreamed of playing Major League Baseball. Joel's passionate pursuit of a professional baseball career ended in 1996 after only one year of minor league baseball in the California Angels system. This summer Joel will be starting his 18th season in Wisconsin's Land O' Lakes Baseball League; he will be playing second base for the Delavan Blackhawks. Joel has won two batting titles and has been selected to nine All-Star games. Joel is a former English teacher and high school baseball coach who is in his fourth year as an elementary school principal. He also works as an adjunct professor for Aurora University. He resides in Elkhorn, Wisconsin, with his wife and three children. Milwaukee Brewers IQ is Joel's first book. He is currently working on his baseball memoir The County Stadium Kid.
